Grief and Loss Services

Surviving a suicide loss

You are not alone in this journey. Each year, countless individuals are impacted by suicide, but with the support of our generous donors and dedicated volunteers—many of whom have experienced loss themselves—we are able to offer resources that foster healing and hope.

Our advices

  • Join a grief support group to connect with others facing similar losses.
  • Express your feelings through journaling or creative outlets.
  • Allow yourself to experience emotions without judgment; it’s okay to feel sad.
  • Create a memory box or tribute to honor the loved one you lost.
  • Seek professional counseling if feelings of grief become overwhelming

HOPEFUL CONNECTIONS

- Personal support for suicide loss

Hopeful Connections provides individuals who have lost someone to suicide with the chance to speak with our trained volunteers. The aim of this program is to assist recent
survivors in navigating their difficult journey by providing support, fostering connections, and sharing valuable resources.

Available through in-person meetings, and phone calls, our volunteers understand the profound sense of isolation that often accompanies this type of loss. They are dedicated to helping survivors find a path forward by creating a safe space for the newly bereaved to express their feelings and ask questions of someone who truly understands their experience.

When someone reaches out to us for support, we will ask a few questions about their loss to ensure we connect them with a volunteer who has faced a similar journey. This peer support volunteer will then reach out to schedule a conversation at a time and place that feels comfortable for the individual.

To request a meeting in person, or by phone, please fill out the short online form below.
